Jay Abraham... World's
Greatest Marketer
Los
Angeles based Jay Abraham is undoubtedly the all time Wizard
of direct marketing.
Jay
charges us $5,000 per hour for consulting and with an introduction
like that... who can afford him?
We
all can afford his book, however. He has a terrific book that
is well worth the $25 price. Most gurus would be trying to sell
it for $200.
They
say heroes are made ... not born... But Jay just may have been
born that way. One of Jay's basic tenet's is to compensate sales
people well. He tells of a company that had no rise in their
sales for several years. They compensated their sales staff by
paying them 10% on sales. Jay took on the job and made the recommendation
that the company pay the sales people 100% of the profit on 'new'
clients.
Sales
doubled the next year. And the new clients stayed with the company
and helped increase sales every year thereafter.
While
Jay is the unrivaled expert of sales , he has yet to address
the new medium of the internet. Perhaps he just does not feel
the need to venture into this market.
What
the heck... at $40,000 for an 8 hour day, he probably does not
need to.
However,
I personally think that Jay doesn't see that there is any difference
in whether one is marketing on the internet or through mail order,
or through a bricks and mortar store.
The
basic principles are the same and there are plenty of folks touting
their expertise in the technical aspects of the internet.
