Don
Lapre and his New Strategies group must have the greatest job
in the entire world ! Don Lapre is the guy on Saturday morning
television sitting around the swimming pool at some exotic summer
resort shooting the breeze with the luscious Cindy Margolis telling
about how he is so easily making money and how rich he is. Cindy
drools over how Lapre is making money so easily and they just
fawn over each other for what seems like an eternity.

Margolis is said to be the most photographed girl on the internet
and... and with her looks... who's to argue... Certainly not
Don Lapre ! ....Cindy Margolis and Don Lapre... What a pair !!
Don
Lapre proceeds to tell us how he started making money and got
rich by placing "tiny classified ads"
in newspapers all around the country and he tells us how we can
do the same thing with the Don Lapre system... Since we are all
suckers once, I have to say that I bought the Don Lapre $39.00
new strategies "package" and read the works from cover
to cover hoping to find the Don Lapre secret to his "tiny
classified ads" and his 900 numbers.
Don
Lapre tells us how he got started selling lists of folks that
had overpaid the government on their mortgage insurance and were
due refunds. You could get a finders fee if you located these
people and it was sooo easy...
The
lists were available from the Feds... but it would take a long
time to get the info from them and in the meantime you could
buy it from dear old Don Lapre for a mere $69 or so and get delivery
right away so that you wouldn't have to wait around to start
making money the easy way. Let's hear it for creativity by good
old Don Lapre... !!
Don
Lapre claims that he doesn't make a dime off his infomercial
about tiny classified ads. What he does with his Saturday TV
performance is to generate your name and my name and address
for his 900 numbers deal so that his marketing people can sell
you all kinds of other stuff on the follow up.That's the underlying
idea of "New Strategies" by Don Lapre.
Don
Lapre's 'pitch' is to have you buy the $69 package after you
went for the $39 for the tiny classified ads... Then we get into
the heavy stuff with the 900 numbers phone lines. He has the
900 numbers available already staffed with operators for the
Psychic Line, the Sex Line, and the Internet Info Line. It's
easy all you have to do is to put up the $500 or whatever...
and you are on your way.... Well, check out my review on the
900 numbers and you will see how difficult that is... It takes
tons of money to promote that kind of business... which is what
Lapre wants you to do so that he doesn't have to do it... it
is too expensive for Don Lapre !
Then
we get to my very favorite idea that Don Lapre came up with...
The forty dollar "lifetime reminder service". Lapre
asks you to pay him to remind you of... birthdays... anniversaries...
mothers day... whatever you want to be reminded of... The beauty
of this deal is that he probably doesn't make much on this arrangement
but once you give him all the information... He can then send
a lifetime reminder of a note advertising all kinds of goodies
for that particular event the rest of your life. Even if Don
Lapre doesn't have an info product to sell you, you can bet he
has a deal with the florist, candy, cigars, or whatever company
to receive a royalty on the stuff you buy on his Don Lapre lifetime
reminder service...
Let's
hear it for Don Lapre for creative thinking...
This
is fun, but you will not make a living or even a second income
from this Don Lapre kind of ridiculous stuff... although my wife
thinks I need a Lifetime Reminder Service... to recall her birthday...
The
latest scoop has Don Lapre in Chapter 11 bankruptcy Court in
Phoenix, Arizona, with a lot of unhappy folks who invested in
his 900 numbers. Many of them are still advertising for him,
but they receive no income because he is not paying them at the
present time... The Bankruptcy Court will oversee the business...
A
later update... I have seen a Don Lapre disclaimer on the Internet
saying that Lapre doesn't own the company anymore and the people
who now own it do not represent his views on how to do business.

Your
comments about Don Lapre are interesting. For a lousy
$40 plus shipping, Don got me started in the best situation I
could ask for back in 1995. He said, if you use just one of my
stratigies, you could be generating extra income.
I
started with one and went from
there...buying and selling @ a flea market. Hey, this is a concept
that goes back thousands of years, but he introduced it to me,
as this was not something that interested me, nor I felt was
worth my time. What Don's information does, is gets you off your
butt and get started.
He
gets you to stop dreaming and start making it happen. One of
the best things he says in his 11 Keys to Success is to get rid
of your negative friends. Well, I did not get rid of them, just
changed their attitudes, because I have a very successful business
and now they are either working with me or investing in me.
The
toughest one has been my spouse. After 6 years of profit and
success, she has finally come aboard this year, our 7th and we
are taking this thing to the next level. She is tough (six years
is a long time to go it alone without the 100% support of your
spouse). 99% of the people in this world need a push and direction
- I was the last person I thought who needed one (after having
my own businesses since I was 10 years old.)
Now
at nearly 40, what Don says makes all the difference. I honestly
can say I wish I could have spent the $40 back in 1981, rather
than the $40,000 it cost me to go to college. College was a great
experience, but did not give me the skills to make it in the
real world and be really successful and certainly did
not motivate me.
Don's
little program did just that.
