Corey
Rudl
Corey
Rudl claims to gross over $5 million a year and he says he is
the most successful internet marketer. He doesn't say how much
he 'nets' except to say that it's many hundreds of thousands,
maybe millions... so that is left up to your imagination. Rudl
has lots of business ideas and may have the largest affiliate
program on the internet.
His
first success was a book called a book called "Car Secrets
Revealed" which he has sold for about four years and
which was the springboard to his internet startup manual...
"The
Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Site on the Internet."
The manual is broken down into two volumes of three ring binders
of information which is printed on only two thirds of a page
and only on one side. Rudl says this is so that we can make notes
in the large margin,
but
more realistically the reason is probably to enlarge the books
so that it appears there is a greater volume of information than
there actually is. I am sure that his refund returns are less
with a bulkier volume of material plus tapes etc.
I
bought Rudl's manuals and almost everything else he sells. He
promotes ' targeted bulk email' as a marketing technique and
sells a bulk mail software called Mailloop. I had great
difficulty getting Mailloop to work and never was successful
getting it to run. After at least 25 calls to his offices in
Vancouver B.C.
I
never did get the program to function. But, I will say that
he has a lot of nice people to help us out...
They
were never did get my software to work... I didn't push for a
refund... I just bought another program which worked and went
on with my business.
However,
I do not recommend Mailloop. Save your money and buy something
that is worthwhile. Mailloop is not inexpensive at about $300
and then you must buy an email harvesting program that is another
$300 called Super Sonic.
The
Super Sonic harvesting program worked well, but the bulk email
program that I finally purchased had an email harvesting program
that went with it for an all inclusive price of just under $300.
Save your money and buy AY Mail for about $40 and have
something that is less complicated and really works.
The
pitch for Mailloop was that it also included an auto-responder.
The auto-responder does not work that well and is very complicated
to use. The techies at Rudl's company said they don't use it
either. There are a lot of free ones around... namely getresponse
and webUse those instead.
His
tapes aren't that great and his software on the floppy disk is
pretty elementary stuff and is almost useless. I couldn't get
the software to work either. I think at some point you just go
on with your work and try to figure it all out yourself. The
one thing I have found about the internet... It set up so that
when a sale is made... That's it... Don't expect a lot of technical
assistance or follow up from the vendors. This is a volume business
and it is extremely rare that you will find anyone that will
follow up with personal assistance on their products.
While
Corey Rudl is the exception to the rule since he has at least
made an attempt to provide service by hiring some assistants...
the truth is that they are not capable of turning around a faulty
product. . One of his people admitted to me that they had the
same problem with Mailloop as I did and were trying to get the
programmer to fix it. That was over a year ago and still no solution.
What
you are going to need to be successful on the internet is more
detail than what Corey Rudl gives you, but you need to start
somewhere. This is not a bad place to start.
I
see that Corey was one of the speakers at the conference put
on by John Mizel last fall at $2,000 a person. Corey explains
that after attending the seminar last year he learned enough
to add an additional $150,000/year to his income.
But,
unless you are an old hand at the web, the first thing you need
is an overall view about what website marketing is all about...
Actually, it is the same old game as the 400 year old ' direct
marketing ' game... It just has some new applications and some
new electronic aids to help you out... I've spent hundreds of
hours researching this and I have come up with a few books that
will help you through this subject and I can recommend any one
of them...
Corey
Rudl
has written a book called "The Insider Secrets to Marketing
Your Business on the Internet".You get a two volumes in
three ring binders with printing on only two thirds of the page
with printing on one side of the paper only. Some tapes come
with the book and it has some software which I could never get
to work.
Corey
doesn't give you the insider info that you would expect... namely..
how to get loads of people to your site and how to sell them...
but you will get a pretty fair grounding in internet marketing.
It's priced at just under $200.
