Brad Richdale
Brad
Richdale was the king of the television infomercial about a year
or so ago. Richdale even had the retired football player, Fran
Tarkenton, giving a pitch for him on TV. I always wondered what
happened to retired football players, but I would have thought
that Tarkenton would have made enough on the football field so
that he wouldn't have to resort to this sort of thing.
Richdale
had a book he was selling called "Secrets to Money Making
Now" and he was hustling the book pretty heavily mostly
on cable channels. According to some, at one point his infomercial
was number one for three months straight.
Unfortunately,
Brad Richdale forgot the underlying premise of "Under Promise
and Overdeliver".
The
'Secrets' manual was slapped together with a lot of out of date
information and hastily put out on the airwaves.
As
a result, Richdale seems to have a lot of unhappy customers and
his troubles have mounted. He was charging up to $8,000 for the
rights to run his advertisements by resellers. A price far too
expensive for that businesss opportunity.
I
talked to Jim Martin of J & J Productions who was handling
the refunds for Richdale and he told me an interesting story.
He said that the FBI showed up one day and confiscated all the
files and office equipment from Brad basically putting him out
of business. Then they did nothing! No charges were ever filed
since Brad had really never done anything wrong.
The
company finally went bankrupt since there was no more activity
and no files. Brad was giving refunds out of his own pocket to
people who only claimed to have purchased the program since he
had no files to cross reference. After a while the money ran
out and Brad felt he had lived up to his obligation so he terminated
the refunds.
Well,
there's another example of your government in action. Put guys
out of business... burn up the Branch Dividians in Waco... tell
us there is a Social Security Trust Fund when the balance is
zero... the list goes on and on.
Here's
a letter I received not long ago.
Hi
Lee,
Regarding my dissatisfaction with Brad Richdale's deal, I did
contact
Jim Martin of J & J Productions about getting a refund last
September or so. He did give me an RMA, Return Merchandise Authorization
number ID and instructions to write an indemnification letter
releasing Brad Richdale from future hostilities. I did send in
all the materials to J & J, following Jim's instructions...
I received nothing in return. I received no confirmation. Nothing.
I don't think it's a good idea to give your readers reason to
think
that Jim Martin will help them.
It was another worthless attempt to resolve what turned out to
be a painfully expensive and worthless hype.
I've learned my lesson.
Eric
Be
advised that there are no more refunds and the company is bankrupt.
Do not send any refund requests to Jim Martin, since he is not
part of the company and is long gone.
If you were one of the unfortunate few who lost money, let this
be a lesson for you.
